A great musician, a great talent, a great personality! 18) Jay JSingerFam@aol.com Location: Ohio Tuesday, October 19, 2004 06:27 PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Of course I was hooked when I heard that Vox organ solo in "House." That was the first solo I learned as a teenager. Oh how I yearned for a keyboard in a suitcase, though I never had a Continental! It's amazing to me how AP was able to get so much sound out of those four octaves of keys on that thing. Listening to his singing makes me wonder why he bothered with Burdon. I'm glad to hear he was able to stay and grow in the fickle music business. 17) Laurie lululaurie@aol.com Location: Still Bloomfield, NJ USA Tuesday, October 5, 2004 02:21 PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well, I don't know what it is exactly about Alan Price's music, it just makes my heart and soul soar, sort of, that's the only way I can explain it, don't know if it's the orchestral(?) quality of it or what, have been trying to figure that out. 16) Laurie Bennett lululaurie@aol.com Location: Bloomfield NJ USA Tuesday, October 5, 2004 02:13 PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ABSOLUTELY LOVE ALAN PRICE FOR YEARS, SAW HIM A FEW TIMES MANY YEARS AGO, THE BEST, LISTENING TO OLM RIGHT NOW, ONLY WISH HE'D SO THE STATES, GREAT TO HAVE FOUND THIS SITE, BUT EVEN BETTER, I HAVE A GIANT POSTER OF HIM AT HOME, WILL HAVE TO GET HOME TO SEARCH SITE FURTHER, HURRAH! Urgent. 11) Bill william17@comcast.net Location: Towson, Maryland Tuesday, September 7, 2004 04:19 PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Been a big big fan since "OLM". Have most of his records/CDs. (my favorite is probably "Shouts Across the Street" also the recent "A Gigster's Life for Me" was excellent!) I'd love to see an Alan Price Set performance sometime before my days (and his) are up. Looks like I'll have to get to London to do it. Maybe some of us yanks should charter a plane. 10) Sue sues@which.net Location: UK Saturday, August 28, 2004 02:13 PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Get that web site store working. This is great news. 8) Jim Location: Astoria, Oregon USA Thursday, August 26, 2004 10:11 PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ....just watched the Dylan documentary movie, Don't Look Back, which I haven't seen in over thirty years....decided I'd search up some info on Alan Price after seeing him in the film...glad I did, he seems like a pretty cool guy. 7) Andriy akulykov@yahoo.com Location: London August 16, 2004 03:02 AM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thank you the person who started this. I've been Alan Price's fan since 1975 - the year when O Lucky Man was shown in the USSR, although in an edited version. One of the reasons AP has been largely overlooked in the UK seems to be a pronounced social trend in his albums. Remember LIBERTY, not to mention earlier things? Back in Soviet times I and my friends (barely 18-19 then) wondered how on Earth the censors allowed to show this film and play these songs to the masses? They thought that Lindsey Anderson and AP were critical purely of capitalism. But the film and the score had a wider meaning. Anyway, politics apart, his music has always been great. 6) DAN COLEMAN dcolema4@columbus.rr.com Location: Columbus OH USA August 2, 2004 03:48 AM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ At last, a proposed web page for one of the true legendary artists of the British Invasion. Have always been a MAJOR fan of Alan's since his Animal days. Glad he continued as a solo artist with the Alan Price Set. Classics such as I Put A Spell On You, Hi Lilli, Hi Low, and Simon Smith are awesome classics. No greater organist than Alan! 5) Declan O'Neill djoneill@iol.ie Location: Dublin, Ireland July 20, 2004 11:48 AM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Glad to see a webpage for Alan Price geting started. I've been a fan for many years and fondly recall his last (only?) appearance in Dublin in the Olympia Theatre some time back in the 80's. What about a trip to Dublin again soon? 4) Mrs Ursula M.Campbell ursula@scarborough.co.uk Location: Northern England July 10, 2004 09:05 AM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ When will you be at Stephen Joseph Theatre next? Regards, Ursula 3) Neville Storey n.storey@wanadoo.es Location: Spain July 10, 2004 08:29 AM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ My claim to fame...... As the holder of the first piano on which Alan tried out 'House of the Rising Sun' with my son on his knee. When he finished he asked, well what do you think?, I replied, it will be either a resounding world wide hit, or, a complete failure. That night at the Newcastle City Hall we saw and heard the result which followed the Animals around the world. 2) keith murphy kbm61756@aol.com Location: new york, usa June 27, 2004 08:42 PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mr. Price please come back to visit NY sometime soon. I saw you with the Animals twice in 1983 and the last time when I visited London in the early 90's. 1) Stephen SDM21HADL@HOTMAIL.COM Location: Oceandise, California June 23, 2004 12:13 PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Glad to be the first guest as well as first forum member.
